We ended up at Kyteler's two nights in a row last week. The music was excellent and the patrons were friendly and chatty. We loved it!

"Kytelers Inn....Love it !!!!"
When away for a weekend in Kilkenny, we decided to go for something to eat & stumbled across Kytelers Inn. What can I say.....an absolute fab place. So warm, cozy & welcoming. The food was amazing....the portions were so big, I couldn't finish my dinner. It was so delicious, I hated it going to waste. The staff were friendly....nothing was a problem for them, they were so attentive. After getting caught in a small shower, when I went to dry off in the toilets, it was to my great delight that they had a ghd in the toilets....what a wonderful idea for the modern girl !!!! They have keypads on the toilets....great idea again, felt safe in there when I was grooming myself. Would HIGHLY recommend Kytelers Inn... my only complaint is that there isn't a Kytelers Inn in every town/ & city.

Perfect all around pub experience! This was our best pub experience during our two week driving tour of Ireland. We visited in the evening. This place is super old, food is fantastic, service attentive, TWO sets of traditional irish music which engaged everyone. Lots of Yanks to compare notes with as well as the locals. We stayed late for several pints after eating dinner there and so glad we did! It was a perfect way to spend the evening after touring all day. We walked back to out B&B feeling very safe. Don't miss this Pub! Cheers!

Lots of fun! "Bodhran Experience" We had great food at Kytelers Inn but the real reason we went was to take the drum lessons with Helen - what a blast! I recommend going, it's free and fun! Visited September 2011

"Great Venue." Brought my wife & three kids to Kyteler's when we stayed in Kilkenny before the kids went back to school. This is a great venue with very decent and well priced pub food and great service. We were served by an American who was great at his job & obviously enjoys working there.

Kyteler's is located in one of the oldest building's in Kilkenny & this only adds the the atmosphere. There is music nightly during the summer season - Trad & folk as well as Bodhrán lessons. Kids are welcome which is great as this is one of the best pub's in Kilkenny, also they have a great smoking area.

Great atmosphere, food and service. We had lunch at Kyteler's Inn, established in 1324. It had a great story about the original owner poisoning her husbands and later condemned as a witch! The food was hot and very good. The waitresses were very attentive and fun to talk to. Everything was clean. Would definitely return to.

Dame Alice Kyteler

Location Map

Dame Alice was the earliest person accused and condemned for witchcraft in Ireland. Was Alice de Kyteler a witch, a poisoner or just a woman who became wealthy by marrying and burying four husbands ?. We may never know...
